I’ve been excited about getting the Ratatouille Pop’s since I saw the preview/pre-order pictures a few months ago and I was finally able to order them last week. I ordered Remy and Linguini from Pop in a Box, and Emile from Disney Store UK as he was out of stock at Pop in the Box.
I’d like to mention that it was my first order with Pop in a Box and unfortunately it wasn’t a smooth experience. I ordered 5 pops from them as they have a deal where you can get 5 for £40; it said they were all in stock and would be dispatched within 24 hours. I ordered on a Thursday. By Monday I had still had no dispatch notice so I messaged them to ask what was going on. I had a reply and was told there had been an error packing my order in the warehouse on the Friday and it had been halted so they would look into it and get back to me in a few hours, and refund me if necessary (as they had already charged me). Luckily they did get back to me later in the day and say that all was sorted and they had been dispatched to me that day; but they couldn’t offer any explanation as to why my order had been halted; or about the fact that they hadn’t informed me themselves, it was only by me asking them where my items where that they actually bothered to tell me. So, I wasn’t too impressed by that, but I will try using them again in future as they did sort the problem quickly once I’d messaged them and my items then arrived later in the week well packaged etc.
Anyway, on to the Pops! I was fully expecting that my favourite’s from the trio would be Remy and Emile, but actually, Linguini wins it for me! He is just so cute! His face is perfect, they really captured his kind of “worried” look and I love his little hairy chin (or beard if you can call it that XD). Remy is also super cute, I love his pose and his little smiley face and chef hat; and Emile is so cute and pudgy and love how they have done his mouth/face so its like he has a mouthful of cheese ❤ They are definitely some of my favourite Pop’s I own and it’s so nice to see new merch from Ratatouille. I’d definitely recommend getting them if you’ve been thinking about it.
Last week the Disney Store in the UK (and the US) released a set of Sleeping Beauty Tsum Tsum’s which of course I had to get 😛 I ordered online though so I only reveived them yesterday.
I did not order the whole set as I already had some of the characters from the set released in the Japan Disney Store a few months ago (Flora, Fauna, Merryweather, Prince Phillip and Pink Dress Aurora); so the ones I ordered from the UK/US set were Blue Dress Aurora, Diablo, Goon, Samson, Owl, Rabbit and King Stefan. I was a little peeved that Briar Rose was only in the box set with the fairies as I already had them and didn’t want to pay to get the box just for her and end up with three extra fairies, but I’ll get over it! I also have Maleficent in her dragon form that I got from the UK/US Disney Store villains set that was released last year so she goes nicely with the others.
I kind of wish I had ordered the Pink Dress Aurora from the UK/US release so that I had a matching pink and blue pair; because as you can see in the pictures below, the Japan Blue Dress Aurora is quite different. Their crowns/tiaras are pretty much the same but their hair and dresses are different.
I love the detailing on Samson and King Stefan’s little beard/mustache is so cute! I think my favorites are the owl because he is just adorable, and Goon because he has such a funny face ❤ The eyes on my Rabbit are a little wonky but he’s still cute; and although Prince Phillip is pretty boring from the front, I love the detail of the embroidered sword that you can find if you lift his cape. All in all, I’m pleased to have a set of Tsum Tsums from this movie as it is one of my faves and they are all pretty damn cute!
I actually got this guy before Christmas but I have only just got round to re-organizing things this week to find a place for him to go on display, so finally today I have de-boxed him!
He is the Feature Maui figure from the Disney Store (from the film Moana) and he is huge! It was a bit of a shock when he arrived, haha!
Anyway, he is really awesome. He’s nice and chunky and comes with his magical fish hook which lights up when you press the button on his front. He also says several phrases when you press the button, such as “Do you know who Maui is?”, “Only the greatest demigod in all the South Pacific”, “With his magical fish hook he slowed down the sun”, “And I should know, haha, because I’m Maui”, “Haaaaaaaa”, “Hahah, let me show you how it’s really done”. He also sings a large part of his song, “You’re Welcome” which is fab 💓
His arms can move up and down at the shoulder and bend at the elbow; and his legs can move forwards and backwards and out to the sides. His necklace is an actual plastic piece rather than just painted on, but you can’t remove it. The skirt is made from a rubbery material and quite flexible. The details of his tattoo’s are awesome; and he comes with a little “magical” sponge which you are supposed to rub on specific spots of his body to make more tattoo’s appear but I have tried that a few times and haven’t been able to get it to work yet so I’m clearly not getting the temperature of the water right. However, I’m not too fussed about that anyway as the rest of him is awesome enough 😀
I missed out on getting this set of Inside Out figures from the Disney Store and really regretted it, but I was lucky enough to find them recently secondhand for only £6 including postage! Bargain! They have been played with so a couple of them have the odd scuff on them but I’m not worried about that.
The figures in the set are Bing Bong, Joy, Sadness, Fear, Disgust and Anger. They are all really lovely and detailed and the colours are nice and bright. They all have really great expressions, especially Fear 😄 Bing Bong is definitely my favourite from the set.
As promised, here is the fourth and final figure from the exclusive set released by the Disney Store when the film was released. This one is Remy’s dad, Django. The other figures available in this range were Remy, Emile and Git.
Again, the box is the same as for the other figures but with pictures of Django on it; and like all the others there is the little cardboard divider in the box with a background scene from the film printed on it which is great for photos. Django’s raft pieces consist of two bottles with a little wooden platform linking them together. As with the other figures, Django is really nicely detailed. His facial expression is awesome; I love his teeth and his droopy nose, they captured the look of him being an old rat really well. Again, like the others, his is slightly poseable too. The final picture here shows all the raft pieces from the different sets connected together to make the one larger raft. Its pretty awesome! I will take some better pictures of it soon with it all set up with all the figures on it too.
Git was the third to arrive of my Disney Store exclusive Ratatouille action figures. They originally retailed at £10 in store when the film was first released but I got each of mine on eBay for significantly less than that.
The box is the same as the others, just with pictures of Git on instead; and he has the same little cardboard scene divider inside the box which is neat for a photo background. His raft pieces consist of a big ladle with a sail and a knife for steering. It was almost impossible to get them to stand up for the photos, I had to secure them with blu-tac. Like Remy and Emile, he is really detailed as a figure with a lovely butch shape and slightly poseable like the others too. The final figure in the set, Django, arrived this morning so I will share pictures of him tomorrow 👍😉
The second of my Disney Store exclusive Ratatouille figures came yesterday. This one is the loveable Emile. I won’t go into huge detail about the box and stuff like I did in my post about the Remy figure, as its basically the same but with pictures of Emile on instead. I did forget to mention in the Remy post though that these figures were released back when the film first came out, they aren’t available in store now (a few people asked on my Insta account so just wanted to clear that up). As you can see from Emile’s box, they originally retailed at £10 each which I think was actually a great price for how detailed they are. I am pleased to say though that I paid under £10 for each of mine on eBay 👌
Like the Remy figure, Emile is really lovely and detailed. His face is so cute and he has his cute round belly 😍 He is slightly poseable; its not a massive range of movement but acceptable enough for some decent photos etc.
As with the Remy figure, there was the same little cardboard divider in the box with a scene from the film printed on it which is cute to use as a background for photos.
As mentioned in my review of the Remy figure, there are four figures in the series (Remy, Emile, Git and Django) and each of them come with pieces which go together to make a raft but that can also be used individually with the characters too. Emile comes with a broken tea cup and a spoon for a paddle. I did use a little bit of blu-tac to keep the spoon in position for photos but with a little more patience it might be possible to pose it without 😜 My Git figure actually arrived today so I’ll hopefully add up a review and pics of him tomorrow; so its just Django I am waiting on now!
