Funko Pop! Vinyl – Pluto

Yesterday I shared some pictures with you of the exclusive Dumbo & Timothy Mouse Pop that I got in my Disney Treasures Tiny Town Subscription Box. You can watch an un-boxing video either on that post, or directly on my YouTube channel.

Today I want to share some pics with you of the other exclusive Pop from the box, Pluto. Pluto was another childhood favourite of mine, I loved watching the Pluto shorts; so again, I was very excited to get him in the box. Its a really nice Pop and I love his pose and how they’ve done him with one ear up and one ear down and his big tongue hanging out. The only thing I’m not totally crazy about is that the plastic/finish seems different on his head and body. The head is more matte and the body is shinier and there is a bit of a colour difference between them. I haven’t really come across this before with any of my other Pop’s so I’m not crazy about it, but luckily its mostly noticeable from behind so its not too much of an issue. Despite it, he is still an absolutely adorable Pop! Check out some pictures below:

Funko Pop! Vinyl – A Bugs Life – Princess Atta, Flik & Heimlich

Today I want to share my collection of A Bugs Life Funko Pop! Vinyl figures with you all. They were released a few months ago now but I was only just able to buy them a few weeks ago. I got them from Pop in a Box as part of their 5 Pop’s for £40 deal which is a really good deal if they have the Pop’s you want in stock.

Anyway, the Pop’s available in the A Bugs Life collection include Princess Atta, Flik, and Heimlich so lets start with the usual pics of their boxes. They are all the same usual design of Pop boxes with illustrations of the Pop’s on, as well as which others are available in the collection on the back.

Princess Atta comes with a little clear disc stand to make it easier for her to stand on display. It is possible to stand her without it but its obviously not as secure as she has a skinny body and feet and quite a big head 😀 I really like her pose, I think they captured her character really well with it; and although simple, I love her little wings on her back.

Flik also comes with a clear disc stand like Atta. He is wearing his trademark cap and backpack but the thing I really love about him is his “water bottle” or “water leaf” I should say, that he’s holding in his hands. The water drop just looks really cool, much cooler in real life.

Finally, we have Heimlich, and I would have to say he’s my favourite of the three just because his colours are so bright and vibrant and he is just so cute and chunky ❤ Nice merch is so hard to find these days for this film so if you are a fan, I really recommend them as they are just so nice and really capture the characters well.

Funko Pop! Vinyl – Cars 3 Chrome Lightning McQueen

I’m really excited to share with you today some pictures and my thoughts on the Limited Edition Chrome Lightning McQueen Funko Pop! Vinyl figure. I believe it is a Target exclusive in the USA but here in the UK it just seems to be referred to as a Limited Edition and I’ve seen it on various online stores and eBay etc. However, I was thrilled to discover mine in a local shop (for a great price I might add!) that specializes in selling Pop’s that I discovered recently called Poptastic Collectables, in Weston-super-Mare.

I’ll start of showing the different sides of the box as usual. Its your standard Pop box design with the illustrations of the Pop on the front and sides, and pictures of the other Pop’s available in the set on the back.

Now on to the Pop itself! As you can see, its pretty freaking beautiful!! Honestly, I can’t properly explain to you how stunning this Pop is in real life, but it really really is. Its so shiny and beautiful and the graphic work on him is just stunning. I can’t stop picking him up and admiring him as he really is one of the most beautiful Pop’s I have ever seen. If you’ve been thinking of getting him but weren’t sure, just do it, you really won’t regret it! Now as much as I love him, probably the only other Cars Pop I will get is the blue Fabulous Lightning McQueen as I’m not crazy about the Cars as Pops, they kind of don’t look special enough to me; but this one is clearly the exception, as will the blue one I think as I love his awesome graphics. Also, if you haven’t seen Cars 3 yet, make sure you do! It’s really fantastic and the short film before it, Lou, is just wonderful ❤

Review: Oh You Pretty Things “Pixar” Surprise Box

Now if anyone knows me, they know that I really like surprise boxes and subscription boxes. Sadly at the moment I don’t get any regular subscription boxes because to be honest, there aren’t any around at the moment that cover my interests enough; but luckily I am still able to get my surprise box “fix” from one of my favourite small businesses around, Oh You Pretty Things, which is run by the fabulous Lauren (aka Queenkewpiex on Instagram). As well as surprise boxes, Lauren also offers prints and mugs of her own artwork; plus she sources some amazing vintage/retro Disney (and other items) such as badges, mirrors and more. She doesn’t just do Disney either; other recent boxes she has done include Anastasia, Thumbelina, The Simpsons, Trolls, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and much more! I also happen to know she is working on a new box that I am SUPER excited about and will definitely be getting when they are available 😉

So anyway, lets get back to my order! As well as ordering my surprise box, I also ordered a couple of vintage badges from Lauren of Genie and Chip which you can see below; and Lauren even kindly included that amazing Sorcerer Mickey keyring, as well as a cute card and some princess stickers ❤

Now onto my surprise box! Firstly, everything comes BEAUTIFULLY packaged and I stupidly didn’t take pictures of that because I was just so eager to open it all up! But anyway, below is a quick picture of everything I got inside.

I’m afraid I forgot to take a picture of the Toy Story trading cards (another of my favourite things!) as I have already put them in my folder, but they were super awesome. In terms of handmade items by Lauren, she included the amazing Edna Mode quote print, the beautiful Reach for the Sky necklace, and the To Infinity and Beyond banner. I need to mention here how incredibly sweet Lauren was with regards to the necklace. She knows that I can only use one hand/arm so she was so super sweet and ordered some special magnetic fastenings for the necklace to make it easier for me, and even included some extra ones in the box that I can use on some of my other necklaces. Such a kind thought, I was so touched ❤ I need to get a frame for my print but the banner is already hung on my bed and I adore it!

Also inside my box was the amazing Anger plush, and a figure of Merida which I was super excited about as she is from a set they did in Disney Store of all the princesses but the only one I wanted was Merida so I didn’t buy it, so I am thrilled to have her now 🙂 I also got the amazing Bing Bong Little Golden Book which has actually been on my Amazon wishlist for months and the illustrations are just adorable; plus the iron on Woody patch which again, I’ve been meaning to order one for a while to customize some clothes so really happy with that. Finally, I also got the beautiful pin of Carl and Ellie from Up which I am just over the moon with as I adore them and its such a beautiful pin ❤ Overall, I was absolutely thrilled with my Pixar surprise box and will definitely be ordering again from Lauren in the future!

Shop Review: Retro From Scratch (Custom Notebooks)

Hi everyone! I wanted to share a review with you today of a fantastic etsy shop called Retro From Scratch which re-purposes old books, including loads of Disney ones, into notebooks.

There are quite a few shops that do this but Retro From Scratch really caught my eye because of their range of options for inside your notebook. Most other shops I have seen just offer blank or lined pages for their books but RFS has a vast range of options such as wedding planners, diaries, recipe books, holiday planners and more, along side the regular plain and lined options. Also, the pages are all designed by Becky herself. You can also get other cute upgrades for your notebook too such as a glitter spine or a glitter book band.

I’d been meaning to order for a long time but I had to keep spending on other things but finally I was able to place an order a couple of weeks ago. As some of you know, I have a chronic autoimmune disease and as a result, I have been on high dose medical steroids for a long time which resulted in my putting on a lot of weight. I decided to try Slimming World again as I’d had success with it before I got ill, but to try and keep me a bit more motivated I decided to order one of my notebooks from Becky with the Slimming World food diary option. I really wanted a Ratatouille cover for my notebook as I thought it was the ideal choice but when I browsed through the shop, there weren’t any listed. I contacted Becky via her Instagram account to ask if she had any in stock and she was super lovely and looked through all her books and was able to find me a fabulous little Ratatouille guidebook to use. I also opted to have a glitter spine on it and told Becky to use which colour she thought would go best and the light blue she chose is perfect ❤

The other style of notebook I ordered was one with dotted pages to use as a bullet journal. The cover I chose was a beautiful Finding Dory book with an amazing metal 3D plate on the cover. Again, I chose a glitter spine upgrade too and Becky chose perfectly again with the darker blue.

The other cool thing about Becky’s notebooks is that she leaves some of the original pages from the books in and she really seems to have a knack for choosing the best pages to put it. I haven’t shown all the pages she left in in the photos below but I particularly love the contents page and the “Remy and Linguini’s Cooking Tips” sections that she left in my Ratatouille book. Perhaps the only negative, and its not really a negative, is that it made me want to get a copy of the actual book but luckily I was able to immediately go on eBay and find one nice and cheap 😀 In my Finding Dory book, its so beautiful when you open it and are greeted with the gorgeous coral reef artwork on the first pages ❤ Also, the books came beautifully packaged so it was a real joy and really exciting to sit and open them.

I really, really couldn’t recommend Retro From Scratch more. The books are absolutely beautifully made and Becky is so kind and helpful. I’m sure I’ll be ordering again in the future!

Ratatouille Funko Pop! Vinyls – Remy, Emile & Linguini

I’ve been excited about getting the Ratatouille Pop’s since I saw the preview/pre-order pictures a few months ago and I was finally able to order them last week. I ordered Remy and Linguini from Pop in a Box, and Emile from Disney Store UK as he was out of stock at Pop in the Box.

I’d like to mention that it was my first order with Pop in a Box and unfortunately it wasn’t a smooth experience. I ordered 5 pops from them as they have a deal where you can get 5 for £40; it said they were all in stock and would be dispatched within 24 hours. I ordered on a Thursday. By Monday I had still had no dispatch notice so I messaged them to ask what was going on. I had a reply and was told there had been an error packing my order in the warehouse on the Friday and it had been halted so they would look into it and get back to me in a few hours, and refund me if necessary (as they had already charged me). Luckily they did get back to me later in the day and say that all was sorted and they had been dispatched to me that day; but they couldn’t offer any explanation as to why my order had been halted; or about the fact that they hadn’t informed me themselves, it was only by me asking them where my items where that they actually bothered to tell me. So, I wasn’t too impressed by that, but I will try using them again in future as they did sort the problem quickly once I’d messaged them and my items then arrived later in the week well packaged etc.

Anyway, on to the Pops! I was fully expecting that my favourite’s from the trio would be Remy and Emile, but actually, Linguini wins it for me! He is just so cute! His face is perfect, they really captured his kind of “worried” look and I love his little hairy chin (or beard if you can call it that XD). Remy is also super cute, I love his pose and his little smiley face and chef hat; and Emile is so cute and pudgy and love how they have done his mouth/face so its like he has a mouthful of cheese ❤ They are definitely some of my favourite Pop’s I own and it’s so nice to see new merch from Ratatouille. I’d definitely recommend getting them if you’ve been thinking about it.

Homemade Dole Whip! – Slimming World Friendly & Dairy Free!

Hi guys! I’m here with something a bit different for you today but I really hope you like it as I am pretty excited about it 😀

So most people who visit some of the Disney parks and resorts will be familiar with one of the yummy treats they serve at some of them called Pineapple Dole Whip. I have actually never been and never had it (boooo!) but I’ve been reading up about it online and decided to have a go at making my own version of it as I thought it would be a yummy summer treat!

My version is obviously going to be quite different to the real thing, however I can assure you that it is super yummy! Even better is that it uses only two ingredients, is dairy free, and Slimming World (a dieting/healthy eating system in the UK) friendly!

Step 1. – Your two ingredients that you need are frozen pineapple chunks, and Alpro Coconut Original Drink. You can get a whole pineapple and cut it into chunks yourself but you must then freeze it.

Step 2. – Measure out your ingredients! To make enough to serve two people (and possibly even three!), you will need 8oz of frozen pineapple chunks and 4oz of Alpro Coconut Drink. With regards to slimming world, 600ml of Alpro Coconut Drink either counts as a Healthy Extra, or 6 syns. We are only using around 113ml for this recipe and it serves 2 (maybe even 3) people so you’re looking at around 1 syn (maybe just over 1) for a serving of this!

Step 3. – Put both ingredients into your blender/food mixer and whizz on full power. You may need to stop it a few times and push the mixture back down to make sure you get all the chunks blitzed. When all the chunks are blitzed up, you should get a mixture that is roughly the consistency of soft serve ice cream.

Step 4. – Serve immediately! This is designed to be eaten straight away so a top tip is to have chilled your serving bowls beforehand so they are also nice and cold when you serve up your whip so it doesn’t melt as fast. You could freeze it, but the consistency won’t be the same when you come to eat it. You could be a little more artsy than me and put it in a piping bag to present nicely like proper dole whip but I was too eager to eat mine so I just scooped and served 😀 Hope you enjoy it!
